Romy Haas has worked for Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for 18 years. Romy began as a Law Enforcement Technician and later served as an Operations Assistant II in the Office of the Chief. For the past ten years, Romy has worked as a Crime Analyst at several assignments including: Lakewood and East Los Angeles Sheriff's Stations, and Internal Criminal Investigations Bureau, where she assisted detectives in numerous cases.
For the past seven years, she has been assigned to Homicide Bureau, where she has assisted detectives in hundreds of homicide cases, providing leads, and identifying suspects. Her work for Homicide Bureau has allowed her to develop an expertise in the areas of cell phone activity analysis and mapping, and social media. She is considered an expert witness in these fields and has testified in court for murder trials numerous times. Romy has conducted seminars for gang detectives regarding the benefits of working with Crime Analysts, and has presented at trainings and international conferences for Crime Analysts on cell phone analysis and courtroom testimony. She was recently honored as the recipient of the 2018 Southern California Crime and Intelligence Analyst of the Year.
