Detective Mark Sunagawa has been employed with the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department for the past twenty years. He has worked a number of assignments throughout his career, ranging from custody, patrol and detective bureau. Detective Sunagawa has worked the greater part of his career assigned to Operation Safe Streets Bureau (Gang Unit). For the past eight years, he was assigned to the Gang Surveillance Unit, conducting fugitive surveillances and fugitive tracking. He has helped capture numerous wanted homicide suspects and other fleeing felons. For the past three years he has been assigned exclusively to the Homicide Gang Task Force, Mobile Forensics Team. He is one of only two detectives assigned to track cell phones for the entire Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
