Homicide Detective Bob Kenney has been employed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for 27 years, and assigned to Homicide Bureau for the last 14 years. He has handled over 120 murders and 40 Deputy or Officer Involved Shootings. He has taught for L.A.S.D. Sheriff's Academy Advanced Officer Training for 16 years, as well as Los Angeles HIDTA, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, The Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Los Angeles County District Attorneys Office, and Riverside Community College. He teaches regularly at the L.A.S.D. Academy for the following courses: The Robert Presley “Institute of Criminal Investigation" Homicide and Death Investigation, Basic Criminal Investigations, and Analytic Interviewing.
Bob also teaches classes on Tactical Court Preparation, Elder and Child Murders, and Deputy/Officer Involved Shootings.
Bob graduated from California State University, Long Beach, in 1999, with a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice.
